2009 Peace Corps Food Security Conference

Representatives from almost every Peace Corps country in sub-Saharan Africa met in Dakar for a four-day food security conference in December, 2009. More than forty participants discussed best practices in the approach to the establishment of food security and met sub-regionally to discuss future strategies. The conference also included guest presentations from USAID, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the World Food Program, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the International Resources Group, and the Food and Agriculture Organzation.
