Foundiougne and Mbam

Foundiougne, the door of the Sine-Saloum Delta, is located in the Fatick region. It is one of the oldest communities in the country. A guide can show you all of the important historical sites. If you want the village experience, take a horse-drawn cart to Mbam, 3 km from Foundiougne. Mbam is a member of GENSEN, a network of eco-villages in Senegal. It provides tourism integrated with culture and the local people. Accommodations can be found in the houses of villagers or in a campement in Mbassis (4 km away). You can go on an eco-circuit in Mbam and the neighboring villages to truly experience the environment and the village lifestyle. Also there are traditional shows, Sérère wrestling matches, and village music troupes.
